Dr. Elias Gikas is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon
who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member
of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society
for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College
of Surgeons.
He believes that Plastic Surgery by correcting a variety of deformities
and imperfections can deliver enormous gratification to both the patient
and the treating physician. By restoring normalcy and proportionality
to the external appearance of the human body it can restore inner feelings
of happiness and well being, improve the patients self esteem and quality
of life. It is the cornerstone of his philosophy in the practice of
this specialty.
His approach to each patient is a careful and compassionate listening
to his or her concerns, aspirations and expectations. A careful evaluation
of their particular problem is then done along with an assessment of
their health status, and a thorough explanation of what can realistically
be achieved is conveyed to them. Examples with photographs of other
patients with similar procedures are also used to assist them in their
decision.
He tries to select those patients who will derive great benefit from
the surgical procedures and discourage those who may not benefit or
are not candidates for those procedures. He emphasizes realistic expectations,
patient motivation and full understanding of the surgical procedure,
the healing process, possible complications as well as expectations
and outcomes.
He places patient safety first. Most of his procedures are performed
in a hospital or a state of the art approved surgical center. He uses
board certified anesthesiologists for their surgical and postoperative
management and has the option of overnight stay in the hospital if the
patient desires or needs to. Therefore the patients are given the highest
standard of safety and care.
He strives for excellence using the latest techniques and advances in
plastic surgery in achieving natural looking results while at the same
time provides a compassionate and caring environment for his patients.
The overall experience is very rewarding to the patient, the staff and
the physician. As a testament, the vast majority
of his referrals are formed from his own patients and some from physicians
through word of mouth.
